  1. Visit a fair near you. Go through the building or tent that has baked goods. Make a list of all the kinds of baked goods you see. Think about the different types of baked goods. Make a chart that names and lists the different types (pies, cakes, cookies, puddings, etc.)

  2. Why do farmers have dogs? What do the dogs do for the farmers? Visit a farm and ask the farmer about his dog or dogs.

  3. Why do people get lost in the woods? List as many ways as you can think of.

  4. Visit a state or national park if you can and talk to the park rangers, or invite a park ranger to visit your classroom. How do rangers find people who are lost in the woods? What do the park rangers say you should do if you’re lost in the woods?
